When you Speak, it is important to reach your entire audience. If you don't, you will leave some listeners disconnected from you and your message.
Everyone is different, but ensuring that you have the following 3 elements in your speeches, will allow you to connect with your audience members on various levels.
ELEMENT #1 - Hit their Head
Some people want to be hit with cold, hard facts. They want information, and their brain is wired to look for learning. With these people, they want the tools and techniques to be able to move on to the next level of success, or to achieve their goals.
Verbally “hit” this person in the head by using the following:
ELEMENT #2 – Hit their Heart
There are some people that you will speak to that need to be moved emotionally. Everyone has some form of reaction to emotions, but some people CRAVE it during a speech. They need to be moved emotionally before they are moved to action. For some people, you need to get right into their hearts.
Verbally “hit” this person in the heart by doing the following:
ELEMENT #3 – Hit their Gut
Finally, there will be some times that you just need to get under a person's skin. Some people need to hear what they don't want to hear, so that they can take the actions that they need to take. There is a fine line between “calling someone out” and offending them, but here are some ways to be memorable by getting under their skin.
